Home to one of the world’s largest reptile zoos, Alligator Adventure at Barefoot Landing offers animal admirers the opportunity to see exotic animals, watch live alligator feedings, and participate at snake handling sessions. Or, if being up close and personal with reptiles isn’t your thing, check out nearby T.I.G.E.R.S Preservation Station for some hands on time with tiger cubs, leopards, and monkeys. Try running through the course at MirrorMaze, riding the Barefoot Carousel, or checking out the Barefoot Landing Marina for even more family fun.
Looking for something a bit more relaxing? Walk along the paved paths and beautiful bridges overlooking Louis Lake while visiting some of the over 100 stores located at Barefoot Landing. Stop in at the Carolina Vineyards Winery and take home a taste of the south. Or wander through the doors of Old Tyme Portraits by Treadway and have a souvenir family photo taken.
After a long day of fun and adventure, sit down to a peaceful dinner. Dine along the water at Wild Wing Café, or try some local seafood and Lowcountry cooking at Flying Fish Public Market & Grill. Enjoy a dinner cruise and tour on the Barefoot Princess riverboat as it travel along the scenic Intracoastal Waterway.
For some more action, come by every Monday night from June through August when visitors and locals alike gather to enjoy the free fireworks show provided by Barefoot Landing. After the food, fun, and fireworks, head on over to the House of Blues and to get a taste of the area’s nightlife entertainment and listen to some great live music. Take the family to catch a live show at the Alabama Theater where kids 16 and under are free most weeknights.
