Fourth of July Fireworks
There are plenty of places along the Grand Strand to enjoy fireworks. Check it out:
• Cherry Grove Pier – 9:15 over the ocean
• Barefoot Landing – 10:15 over the lakes
• Broadway at the Beach – 10pm over Lake Broadway
• Second Avenue Pier – 10pm over the ocean
• Surfside Beach – 10pm over the ocean (Surfside Drive and Ocean Boulevard)
• Murrells Inlet – 10pm at Veteran’s Pier
Boat Parade – July 4th
In the mood to try something different this July 4th? Head down south to the charming city of Murrells Inlet to view their annual boat parade. This patriotic event takes place at high tide each year which falls at 12pm this year. The boats will gather at Garden City Point and float south through the inlet. Viewing spots are available at MarshWalk, Belin Methodist Church, and the new Jetty Walk. Stick around after the floating parade for local dining and attractions and then an oceanfront fireworks extravaganza at 10pm over Veteran’s Pier.
Cupcake Eating Contest – July 4th
What is more American than stuffing your face with as many cupcakes as you can eat? You can do just this on the 4th of July at Croissants Bistro & Bakery. Their annual cupcake eating contest takes place on the fourth from 3pm – 5pm at the restaurant. In addition to the contest, the event will include tons of activities for families; games, face painting, cupcake decorating, live entertainment, and much more. Family Dive In Movie Night – Every Wednesday
Gather your crew and head to Myrtle Waves Water Park for a “dive in” movie, a truly unique event. Each Wednesday, the water park will host a different family friendly movie on a large outdoor screen. Guests are invited to “dive in” at 4pm and enjoy a few hours of splashing before the movie begins at dusk. Admission to this entire evening is only $11.99 per person plus an extra buck if you want to enjoy popcorn during the show. Why Chromosome at Carolina Improv – July 11th
Leave the kids in for a night and head over to Carolina Improv to enjoy an evening of laughter. The “Why Chromosome” show is an 18+ production that pokes fun at the opposite sex. It’s a show about men, for men, by men but is fun for everyone. These shows are performed by local improve experts who know how to keep things interesting. The show is run by suggestions from the audience and audience members are even incorporated into the show from time to time. 13th Annual Mustang Week – July 14th – 20th
Mustang admirers and aficionados alike will enjoy this festive event. Hosted at Broadway at the Beach, this annual event is fun for the whole family. Mustang owners and enthusiasts gather each for a week full of fun. Events will include games, presentations, entertainment, special guest appearances, and plenty of mustangs – of course! There will also be other events at other locations throughout Myrtle Beach, like an Autocross School at the Myrtle Beach Speedway and shootouts at the Myrtle Beach Mall.
