Myrtle Beach Events Rundown: September
Labor Day has come and gone and things are starting to slow down at the beach. Though our prime season has passed, don’t let that fool you into thinking Myrtle Beach has gone to sleep! There are still tons of exciting local events that you can enjoy during your fall getaway. And, the slightly cooler weather (still in the 70’s and 80’s) provides the perfect opportunity to get out and about and enjoy the town. Check out a few of the top events in our area for September:
Dog Days Blues & Jazz Fest – September 13th
The “dog days” of summer are officially over! Head out to La Belle Amie Vineyard, located right up the road in Little River, to celebrate the season. This event will offer live blues and jazz performances from local artists, samples of current wine offerings, fresh food from local vendors, and even free tours of the scenic vineyard. Admission to this event is $8 / person but you can cut that down to only $5 by bringing 2 canned/dry food items. Bring a chair and a few blankets and settle in for a great time with great friends and great wine! Call (843) 399-9463 for more information.
Annual Greek Festival – Sept.25th – Sept. 28th
Opa! Gather your whole group and head to St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church (located right off 29th Avenue North) to get your fill of authentic Greek cuisine. This lively festival is a favorite among visitors and locals each year and has become an annual tradition for many. Feast on authentic offerings like tyropitakia, pastititio, moussaka, souvlaki, spanakopita, and much more. Be sure to save room for sweet treats like baklava and galaktoboureko. Food isn’t the only draw of Greek Fest; guests can also enjoy live entertainment, kids’ activities, and a wide array of local vendors showcasing their finest offerings. The fun runs from 11am – 9pm on Thursday, 11am – 10pm Friday and Saturday, and 12pm – 7pm on Sunday.

The annual Irish Italian International Festival takes place on Saturday, September 27th this year and you won’t want to miss out on this creative combination. There will also be prizes for participants including “best entrée”, “best decorations”, and “best dessert”. Where else can you enjoy authentic tiramisu, spicy meatballs, handmade ravioli, bangers and mash, corned beef and cabbage, and shepherd’s pie all in one place?
