SkyWheel On The Boulevard

The newest Myrtle Beach attraction, the Myrtle Beach Skywheel, is set to open this May.  The 5,400 square foot building will house a restaurant with a two story deck, a retail shop, a gift shop, Jimmy Buffet’s Landshark Grill, and the Skywheel ticket booth on the two .28 acre lot where the Golden Villas motel once stood at 1106 N. Ocean Blvd.  The SkyWheel will be 187 feet tall on the oceanfront just north of Plyler Park and Holiday Inn “At The Pavilion”.  When completed, it will be the largest wheel of any kind east of the Mississippi River.  There will be 42 glass gondolas that will take riders on a 10 to 12 minute ride of three revolutions. Tentative prices may be $10.00 for adults and $6.00 for children. It will be heated & air conditioned so it will be operational all year long.
