Top Fall Events for 2017 in Myrtle Beach

Summer is slowly winding down and fall is just around the corner. Though summer at the beach is great, fall is a favorite season for many visitors and locals alike – and it’s not hard to see why. The temperatures will finally reach a comfortable point again and the area will come to life with exciting local events. 

 

Whether you are enjoying a belated summer getaway or are just popping in for a quick weekend retreat – be sure to check out some of our local events during your trip! Check out these great Myrtle Beach events:

 

Beach, Boogie and BBQ Festival | Market Common | September 1st – 2nd

 

Beach, Boogie and BBQ is like a match made in heaven: BBQ, wings, live music, beer…what else could you ask for in a food festival? This two-day Labor Day weekend event features a wing competition and tasting, a beer garden, barbecue tasting, a corn hole competition, a car show, live music from some of the areas best local bands, and a Kansas City Barbecue Society BBQ Competition. Delicious may be an understatement. Admission to the festival is free, with BBQ sampling tickets available for $1 each. The fun starts Friday, September 1 from 6 pm – 9 pm and continues Saturday, September 2 from 12 pm to 6 pm.

 

 

Coastal Uncorked | Broadway at the Beach | September 1st – 3rd

 

Foodies from across the state flock to Myrtle Beach each Labor Day weekend to attend the annual Coastal Uncorked Festival, and it’s not hard to figure out why. This three-day event hosts three individually themed events that celebrate the best food, drinks, and music the area has to offer.

 

This year’s lineup includes:

·      Friday – Chocolate Under The Moon (Moonshine Mixology & Desserts)

·      Saturday – Brews n’ The Beach (Craft Beer Festival)

·      Sunday – Grand Wine Tasting (Wine & Hors D’oeuvres)

Brew at the Zoo | Brookgreen Gardens | September 23

 

Enjoy a cold one with friends at the Brew at the Zoo fundraising event at Brookgreen Gardens! Over 30 regional and national craft beers will be on-hand for guests to sample and enjoy while raising money for new projects at the gardens through a silent auction. Live entertainment will be on-hand, and guests will receive a signature tasting glass. This event starts at 5:30 pm and runs until 8:30 pm.

 

Irish Italian Festival | North Myrtle Beach | September 30th

 

italian cannoliIreland meets Italy? Yes, all of your culinary dreams are about to come true at the annual Irish Italian Festival! This event is a favorite among locals and is definitely worth the short trek north. The fun kicks off at 10 am and runs through 4 in the afternoon. Visitors can enjoy everything from live entertainment and contests to local vendors, kids’ activities, and plenty of great food – of course! Head to Main Street, North Myrtle Beach on Saturday to see what all the buzz is about.

 

 

St. John’s Greek Festival | St. John’s Greek Church | September 28th – October 1st

 

If Greek grub is more your style, you’re in luck. The annual St. John’s Greek Festival takes place at the end of the month and is an absolute must for families. This four-day event takes place at St. John’s Greek Church (off 29th Avenue North) and offers plenty of food and fun for everyone. Get your fill of favorites like spanakopita, souvlaki, and baklava, and enjoy authentic Greek entertainment and vendors. This event is free to attend. souvlaki

 

 

Annual Wine Festival | Market Common | September 16th

 

wine cheersWine experts and newbies alike are sure to enjoy the free flowing flavors at this year’s Annual Wine Festival. Guests will father at Valor Park (Market Common) to sample wines from around the globe. Admission is only $5 and includes a souvenir tasting glass. Guests can then “pay as you go” via drink tickets to enjoy whichever samples they please. The festival will also host live entertainment and a wide array of local vendors.

 

 

 

Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival | Downtown Myrtle Beach | October 6th – 7th

 

crab cakesThe second iteration of the Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival premieres this October. Several area restaurants will set up shop to showcase their finest seafood offerings. Guests can expect everything from shrimp, scallops, and oysters to mahi mahi, wahoo, grouper – and everything in between. There will also be live entertainment, local vendors, and activities for kids. This event runs from 11 am – 7 pm and is free to attend. 

 

 

Myrtle Beach Oktoberfest | Market Common | October 13th – 14th

 

The Market Common Oktoberfest is the area’s biggest and best celebration of it’s kind and you won’t want to miss out! This family friendly gathering lasts all weekend long and features plenty of food and entertainment for everyone. Kids can take advantage of the spacious kids’ area and arts and craft vendors while the parents can enjoy the generous beer garden and live entertainment. And, there will be plenty of Bavarian food to keep you full. Dust off those lederhosen and head to Market Common to take part in the fun.

 

 

33rd Annual Taste of the Town | Myrtle Beach | October 17th

 

Taste of the Town gives guests the opportunity to try delicious foods from many local restaurants that line the Grand Strand. This popular event will take place at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on October 17. Food tickets, which are $1 each, are used to sample foods from the various restaurants that attend. Admission for adults to  Taste of the Town is $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Ages 14 and under are free. Call 843-448-6062 for more information.
