From cheerful tree lighting ceremonies and bustling festivals to holiday wine tastings and colorful parades, the area will offer plenty of opportunities for visitors to embrace the holiday spirit! Whether you are enjoying an extended Thanksgiving or Christmas weekend at the beach or are in the midst of an extended snowbird vacation, the Myrtle Beach area will be alive with fun events for the whole family. Carolina Opry Christmas Special – Nov.1st – Jan.4th

Gather family and friends for the biggest and most spectacular Christmas show in the Carolinas! The Carolina Opry, a multi-award winning local performance group, is proud to enter the 28th season of its annual Christmas program, known to many as “The Christmas Show of The South”. This holiday show is a tradition to visitors and locals alike and you won’t want to miss out! Tickets can be purchased in advance or the night of – but getting tickets early is recommended because many of the performances sell out in advance.

Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland – Nov.8th – Jan.5th

Pack a few vehicles full of family and friends and head to the Myrtle Beach Pelican’s stadium for the biggest and best holiday display in the area! This Christmas spectacle allows guests to enjoy millions of sparkling LED lights in the comfort of their vehicle. The lights are programmed to elaborate performances that are choreographed to music that you hear through your radio – making it a truly one of a kind experience. Dicken’s Christmas Show & Festival – Nov.14th – 17th

If you are looking for the area’s biggest and best Christmas festival – look no farther than the Dicken’s Christmas Show! Held at the Myrtle Beach Convention center, this weekend long Victorian themed event features hundreds of vendors offering everything from arts & crafts, home décor, and toys to specialty food items, Christmas items, and so much more! There will also be holiday performances and Christmas exhibits and appearances from Santa himself!

Broadway at The Beach Tree Lighting – Nov.23rd

Kick start the Christmas season right with a cheerful tree lighting ceremony at Broadway at The Beach! The night will include live, holiday themed performances from local musicians and elaborate Christmas decorations. The pinnacle of the evening will be the lighting of the Broadway tree followed by a spectacular fireworks display. This event runs from 6pm – 8pm.

Holiday Wine Tasting at Croissants – Nov.23rd

Wine aficionados and neophytes alike are invited to this year’s Holiday Wine Tasting at Croissants Bistro & Bakery. Held from 2pm – 5pm, this event is a fundraiser for a local college and will feature a variety of wines from around the world for guests to taste and compare. There will be live jazz performed by Tom Hanlin and Paul Grimshaw and a variety of raffle drawings for elaborate prize packages. Tickets to this event are only $10.

Barefoot Princess Christmas Regatta – Nov.30th

Enjoy the area’s most popular boat parade in style – with a first class seat onboard the Barefoot Princess Riverboat. Cruise the Intracoastal Waterway in style as you watch the parade pass by. This festive event will include guest entertainment and narration, plenty of hors d’oeuvres and desserts, and so much more! The boat boards at 3:15 and cruises until about 8pm. Night of a Thousand Candles – Dec.5th – 21st

Visitors looking for a unique holiday event should head south to Brookgreen Gardens any weekend in December before Christmas to take in the spectacle of this popular annual event. The staff at Brookgreen Gardens places millions of sparkling lights and over 5,000 hand lit candles throughout the complex to make the gardens come to life! Enjoy strolling throughout the gardens while you sip on hot cider and listen to carolers belt out holiday favorites as you take in the enchanting scenery. Tickets to this event can be purchased in advance or the night of.

Myrtle Beach Christmas Parade – Dec.7th

The Myrtle Beach Christmas parade takes place at Broadway at The Beach and offers a full day of family fun! The parade begins at 11am near the Hard Rock Café and will wind around the Broadway complex, finally ending near WonderWorks. The parade will include participants from all over the Grand Strand, live musical performances, and appearances from Santa himself. Come early to grab your spot as this event attracts a large crowd!

North Myrtle Beach Christmas Parade – Nov.7th

If you can’t make the Myrtle Beach Parade or if you just want to attend two festive events, make plans to head to North Myrtle to take part in their Christmas Parade. The parade will begin on Main Street and travel to Ocean Boulevard so any spot along Main Street will give you perfect proximity to all of the action. There will be a variety of colorful floats and live musical performances, in addition to an appearance from Santa Clause. This parade begins at 5:30pm and usually ends right around 7pm.


Visitors and locals alike flock to the MarshWalk during the year – and for good reasons! Located in the seafood capital of the state, Murrells Inlet, the MarshWalk is an inlet front group of restaurants and a marina that are all connected via a waterfront boardwalk. Great for grabbing a bite to eat or spending a day out on the water, the MarshWalk has everything you need for a day full of fun.

The Crazy Sister Marina is the place to go if you are looking for wet n wild fun. The marina rents everything from kayaks and paddleboards to boats and jet skis, so you can find something for everyone in your group, no matter what your budget is. You can also enjoy a relaxing dolphin tour or a casual cruise around the inlet in the Bahama Mama Boat. Those looking for a thrill can check out the Scuba Express boat or catch a ride on a banana boat. Children love the Pirate Adventure ship and adults often enjoy the challenge of offshore fishing on the Inlet Princess. There is so much to do here – you might need to make a few trips to squeeze everything in!

The restaurant selection is another huge draw of this area. Being that Murrells Inlet is the seafood capitol of the state, you can expect a variety of succulent seafood offerings at these restaurants, most of which is caught in or near the inlet. In addition, Bovine’s offers unique wood fired pizzas that are wildly popular and Creek Rats is the place to go for golden fried seafood baskets. Wahoos and Wicked Tuna are the places to go if you are looking for fresh sushi while Dave’s Dockside is the place to go when you are looking for a killer Sunday brunch. Whatever your palette is craving can be found along the eclectic restaurant selection along the MarshWalk.

Another great part about the MarshWalk is the variety of live entertainment that can be found throughout the week. Many of the restaurants have outdoor bar areas with stages where they host well known local and regional bands. You can expect to hear anything from classic rock to country or current hits depending on who is playing. And, the inlet front boardwalk that connects all of the restaurants makes it easy to stroll from place to place without having to worry about finishing your drink or leaving the MarshWalk.

The Murrells Inlet MarshWalk is a truly unique area that offers memorable cuisine, tons of ocean entertainment, and spectacular inlet views.
