Free Museums


There are several intriguing museums in the area that are free to the public and are a great way to escape the heat or a rare rainy beach day. The Franklin G. Burroughs – Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum showcases visual art from all mediums and genres and also features several special exhibits throughout the year. The museum is open Tuesday – Sunday. The Horry County Museum is also free to the public and gives visitors a true taste of the low country culture. This museum is open Tuesday – Saturday.



Live Music

During the summer months, the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk hosts bands on the weekends that vary from country to rock and everything in between. The Garden City Pier also hosts live music during the summer months. If you are on the south end, check out the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, a half mile stretch of oceanfront boardwalk that connects several area restaurants. The MarshWalk is known for its fun, casual atmosphere and live music throughout the week.
