Independence Day is always a fun time to vacation in Myrtle Beach. While there are so many different activities to choose from, you really won’t want to miss 4th of July at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk!

Daytime Activities

4th of july at the myrtle beach boardwalkYou’ll definitely want to take advantage of the beautiful weather so why not catch some rays or strut your red, white and blue up and down the boardwalk. Conveniently located right outside of Holiday Inn Oceanfront Resort at the Pavilion, you can literally walk out of your hotel room and onto the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. Enjoy the 1.2 miles of beach and boardwalk as you shop, grab lunch, or listen to the live music!

What’s more American than a hot dog on July 4th? Stop in at Peaches Corner, a Myrtle Beach landmark, for a hot dog, burger, or cold beer! If you want a more scenic view, sit oceanfront at Hurricane’s Daiquiri Bar & Grill and enjoy a Fruit Loop (red, white, and blue) daiquiri!

While you’re on the boardwalk, Salute from the Shore! From the beach or the boardwalk watch as the South Carolina Air National Guard flies overhead in honor of Independence Day! View the F-16’s as they whiz by around 1PM.

Take advantage of the skyline view with a ride on the SkyWheel. They have multiple gondolas encased in glass for you to get a 360 view of the Grand Strand. Want to make your ride really special, hop on the SkyWheel during the fourth of July fireworks show (open until 12am)!

Evening Activities

You won’t want to miss a patriotic special at Plyler park. Their Hot Summer Nights will feature local band, Backfire, as they kick off the night with live music at 7pm. Enjoy dancing with American pride to their pop country, 60s and 70s rock, and modern rock covers.

And of course don’t miss the fireworks on the 4th of July at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk! Any spot on the boardwalk will have an excellent view of the sky show, as the fireworks are launched from the 2nd Avenue Pier. The show starts at 10pm so, grab a beach chair, blanket or some sand and enjoy!

If you are lucky enough to have a Myrtle Beach vacation on the calendar for this summer, you can look forward to much more than the sun and the sand. Sure, beach days are great, but once you get your fill be sure to check out a few of the area’s many family-friendly events.
