Guest Pick: Favorite Myrtle Beach Event

11/03/2016
From lively holiday celebrations and succulent culinary events to family friendly festivals and live entertainment, there’s always something fun happening in Myrtle Beach. No matter what time of year you visit, you are sure to find plenty to keep you busy at the beach.

We reached out to our Facebook Fans to see what their favorite Myrtle Beach event is – here’s what they had to say:

“Definitely the Carolina Country Music Festival!” – Samantha H. Carolina Country Music Festival

This June marked the second year for this exciting live music event that attracted guests from across the nation to our sandy shores. The four-day event featured nationally renowned country artists like Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, Corey Smith, Colt Ford, Sam Hunt, Lady Antebellum and Eric Church – to name a few. Event guests enjoyed plenty of live entertainment, delicious food from local vendors, and a wide array of family friendly activities. “Our Kids Love The Carnival at the Boardwalk” – Kellie A.

The Hot Summer Nights promotion is an ongoing summer festival that offers nightly events along the bustling Myrtle Beach Boardwalk form May – August. The weekly Kids’ Carnival, which takes place each Monday evening from 7pm – 10pm, is a huge hit with families. The event includes live entertainment, inflatables, face painting, roaming street performers, family games, and much more and is a great way to spend an evening out on the town.

“We come down every year for Labor Day and always make it to the Beach, Boogie, & BBQ Festival – it’s a family tradition.” – Kevin M. BBQ Festival in Myrtle Beach

This tasty even is a favorite among both visitors and locals alike – and it’s not hard to figure out why! The Beach, Boogie, & BBQ Festival takes place each year over Labor Day weekend at Market Common and is completely free to attend; this year’s dates are Friday, September 4th – Saturday, September 5th. Guests can look forward to cornhole tournaments, live entertainment, a spacious beer and wine garden, a car club showcase, kids’ play area, and of course plenty of mouthwatering BBQ for all. Be sure to check this finger-licking good event if you are in town during Labor Day weekend!

“My wife and I come down every year for Harley Week, it’s our favorite getaway each year.” – Steve G.

Myrtle Beach Harley Week actually happens twice each year, once in the spring and once in the fall, and always draws a crowd. Guests travel to the beach from across the nation to take in the sea breeze and the scenic open highways. In addition to plenty of beach cruising, Harley Week offers tons of lively events throughout the week, particularly on the south end of the strand.

“We travel down for Christmas each year to visit with family and we always visit the Night of a Thousand Candles exhibit – it’s so beautiful!” – Carol N. Night of a Thousand Candles Myrtle Beach Event

Holiday visitors and snowbirds are probably most familiar with this annual Brookgreen Gardens event and it is a definite “must” for anyone in town during the holidays. This unique and enchanting event takes place each weekend between Thanksgiving and the New Year and showcases Brookgreen Gardens in a totally different light – thousands of them, to be precise. The gardens are ornately decorated with brilliant Christmas lights, hand-lit candles, and holiday decorations. Guests are free to peruse the gardens as they enjoy live entertainment and refreshments.
